At BCU Equestrian, we aim to bring the joy and sport of Horse-Riding to all staff and students at Birmingham City University. Whether you are already a seasoned rider, right through to never even sat on a horse, we have something for everyone!
ABOUT
From coaching riders on the ins-and-outs of the sport to honing their athletic skills, we’re proud to teach not only the love of riding, but to also impart the ideals of good sportsmanship, teamwork and loyalty. We are a sociable club with socials, meals and group outings are part of our ideals, we not only compete and ride but bond as a team and with the horses.
Lessons
Lessons are 1 hour long with a qualified and friendly instructor at Brookhouse Riding School. Each lesson is catered to ability so even if you have never sat on a horse before or are a seasoned rider, we aim to have a lesson for you!
BUCS League
As a university run riding club, we can compete in BUCS, which is the university equestrian league, hosting competitions nationwide. This includes dressage and showjumping against other universities nationwide.

As we are a new team, we are currently not competing in BUCS. However, we are hoping to start competing in 2019 in friendlies.
Socials
Part of your membership means that you're part of the BCU equestrian family! We want to hold regular socials which will include: going out, meals, hacks, days out such as Your Horse Live, Olympia etc. We are welcome to anymore ideas for social as well.
